About the Alabama Terriers The Alabama Terriers Basketball Organization was constructed in 1998. The founders of the Terriers are Coaches Terrell, and Q. O'Brien Wherry. Later to this union was added Coaches Thaddeus Brooks and Arthur Brackett. This nonprofit organization was assembled to give adolescents an equal opportunity to grow in the areas of: gentleman/lady ship, life skills, respect, responsibility, and basketball knowledge as well as play. Over the past ten years we have been Blessed to give these players exposure, college recruitment, prep school, and scholarship opportunities. We have teams from the ages of 10 up to 17, boys and girls. We realize that the road would be a rough one; due to the fact that we are a family oriented non-shoe company sponsored organization. All our monies are raised by coaches and players/parents and donated. God has been exceptionally good to the Terriers. HE has afforded us to travel and compete in some of the most competitive tournaments all over the United States. We also thank God that we haven't just shown up, but have been competitive and have our share of some great victories. The Terriers ranked 4th in the nation in 2005 through YBOA, and ranked 10th in the nation through AAU in 2007. We praise God for His young people, His “Terriers” program, family and coaches. We live to our motto: “THE RACE IS NOT GIVEN TO THE SWIFT NOR THE BATTLE TO THE STRONG, BUT TO THE ONES WHO ENDURE UNTIL THE END”. |
